Born in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, in 1979, Currently lives and works in Mexico City.

The work of Ariel Orozco has been maturing at a vertiginous pace during the last years. His proposals refer to the context in which he lives at each moment. Therefore, his first works developed in Cuba had a different profile than the ones made in Mexico, Australia or France –just to name a few examples. Ariel is an unclassifiable artist, who avoids creating a line of work in which he could be categorized and limited, so he makes the most unexpected, overwhelming and categorical proposals.
Through an acute observation of social and quotidian actions, Ariel manages to transform them by performing little actions that will later turn into photography, videos or installations with a poetical strength that makes us think of the quotidianiety of our life, even about the social processes or about the artistic creation processes themselves.
